28th March, 2007: CHARLIE leaves Paris for a while... For those of you who were not aware, Charlie is leaving Paris for a while. The plan is to go back to the UK and record a new disk with his old freinds from "The Burial" and "The Jazz Woodbines", then return to paris for gigging and continuation of the Bonewagon project at the end of the summer. What that means is that Charlies last gig are apon us! Your last chances to see Charlie before he leaves are Sunday night at Corcoran's Clichy and then a special "going away party" at Le Galway on Wednesday night, April 4th (i.e. NOT the usual Thursday night). A lot of old friends and special guests are expected to turn up so we hope you will join us there too. So what happens when he's gone? The regular Thursday night spot at the Galway has yet to be confirmed but the plan is that Kevin will keep the gig doing a duo with the amazing Irish singer Martyn Mulhere, who you know so well from The Hot Waterbottles and Zöe's Dream. Where the Hotwaterbottles are concerned, there are rumours that one of Paris' best known Irish musicians (hint - trombone) will fill Charlie's place but nothing is set in stone at this point. However, until Charlie's return you can still catch all of his news as he writes to us from Engerland, and we'll keep posting Kevin's gigs too, keeping you up to date on the Hot Waterbottles and Caballeros Sympaticos. Maybe we should just rename the site what-Charlie-and-Kev-are-doing.com?? Anyway, we hope to see you all on Wednesday night. Lets give Charlie a great send off as thanks for so much fun and wonderful music over the last 7 years, and lots more to come we hope! Full details and addresses of all upcoming gigs are posted here at the Concerts Page, as always!
8th March, 2007: St. PATRICK'S WEEK CONCERTS... As every year, a very busy week for the boys! Starting on Thursday the 15th, Charlie and Kev play their regular gig at Le Galway. On Friday 16th the guys travel to Lardy, in the countryside south of Paris, for another gig at the fantastic Pelican, kicking St. Patrick's weekend off to a great start and celebrating Kev's Birthday. On Saturday the 17th (St. Patrick's day) there are not one but two gigs in Paris. First up, an early evening St. Patrick's gig at O'Sullivan's by the Mill from 6 to 9pm. Then a quick dash across town to Café Aussie on Rue St. Jacques where they will start a late night St. Patrick's gig at 10.30pm. Sunday the 18th sees a unique double at Corcoran's Clichy! The guys will first play the afternoon St. Patrick's Hangover Brunch gig from 2pm to 5pm. Lots of bloody Mary's and Irish brekfasts, no doubt! Then in the evening they will play their regular Sunday evening gig, starting perhaps a little earlier than usual at 9pm and also celebrating Martyn Mulhere's birthday. For those of you who have not yet bought the new CD, it is on sale at all of our gigs. Already into our second pressing there are disappearing fast! You can listen to clips of the songs from the new CD over on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/bonewagonparis or click on the music link above.
25th February, 2007: Upcoming concerts for MARCH... Lots of chances to se Charlie and Kevin over the March, including Hot Waterbottles concerts at O'Sullivans and Corcoran's. Full details and addresses of all upcoming gigs are posted here at the Concerts Page, as always!
We have also updated the links page. For those of you who may not have seen or heard of some of our other musician friends in Paris, have a look.
1st August, 2006: CD LAUNCH PARTY!... This Thursday, 3rd of August, at Le Galway we will be having a double celebration. Firstly we will be celebrating Charlie's birthday! Secondly, we will be launching our new 5 track CD! For this one night only we will have a limited run of special edition CDs, signed, numbered, and crystal boxed, for sale at the price of only 10€!! (The regular CDS will be available in September at the same price but will come in a simple 'pochette carton'.) So, get down for the last gig of the summer, buy your CD and celebrate another few wrinkles on Charlies (still very young looking) face! We hope to see you all there!
25th April, 2006: Announcements... First off, a reminder that Charlie and Kev are still playing Le Galway on Thursday nights, 9.30pm start. Secondly, we are in the studio with musician/producer extraordinarie Duncan Roberts finishing the mixing and mastering of the tracks recorded last year. A short CD will be available for sale in the coming months! The current plan is to record more new material over the summer and then start rehearsals for gigs with a full band. Discussions are also under way with Duncan to be produced by his label, Spozzle records. BTW, if you have not checked out his work and band 'Dictafone', you should do! As you all know, last year Charlie joined Krusty Mor and the Hot Waterbottles (with Martyn Mulhere and Nicolas Roy) following the departure of Mark Downey. Well, they have decided to drop the "Krusty Mor" from the name, now simply known as "The Hot Waterbottles" and our very own DrKev is now an official member of the group, adding a bigger sound and an extra voice to the Paris's favourite 'Irish feckin' music and more' group. They play every Saturday night at the James Joyce and every Sunday night at Corcoran's on Boulevard de Clichy.
5th April, 2006: WHAT Night at The Galway?? Yes, it gets confusing... Charlie and Kev are this Friday night (7th April) at Le Galway, St. Michel, 10pm 'till 2am. Next week we go to a Thursday night schedule, starting at 9.30pm! If anybody is not on the mailing list, please let them know or drop us an email to suscribe yourself.
10th August, 2005: Guestbook change Posting to the guestbook will now only be possible by sending us an email. While your message may take a day or two to appear it will appear and not be swamped in guestbook spam. So, no more excuses!
